Hello!
My name is Elizabeth and if you only knew how far out of my comfort zone being in the "Spotlight" is for me...but here goes.
I share the same birthday as Kim and at least two other Siestas, best I can tell. I am originally from Chicago, but my family roots are in PA. I found myself in the Dallas/Fort Worth area after I married my husband, Gregg. We both worked for American Airlines and met on a flight, pilot and flight attendant. We have been married for nearly 19 years and I just have to say that makes me proud with a little "p."
We delight in our children. Brynne, Lacey and Jacob. Brynne (almost 18)will be a Senior this year and has a tremendous love for the Hispanic community and their language. She looks forward to going to college (A&M?)and a career in bi-lingual education. I will miss her like crazy.
Lacey (16) will be a Junior this year and leaves me in awe with her work ethic, time management and discipline - unless we are talking about laundry. She is a competitive swimmer for her high school and a local club team. She is also working as a life guard this summer and is damp most of the day.
Jacob (11) will start middle school this year as a 6th grader. He is the perfect blend of all boy and sweet as can be. Toss in a hefty dose of funny, affection and love of God and you will start to get a picture of Jacob - who by the way loves nothing more then hanging out with his dad.
Some of my favorite (significant and mundane) things (in no particular order):
Anything pink: and I mean anything!
Podcasts: I listen to some great teaching daily as I exercise.
Colorado: My husband's native state and where you will find our family every August for a couple of weeks.
Teenagers: They make me laugh, can be so wise, and are just plain fun!
My Bible and Bible study: I have a slight fear of losing it...it has become somewhat autobiographical with all of the notes I have in it.
Ministry that welcomes all believers, regardless of denomination: Students Standing Strong, Beautiful Feet, Fort Worth and of course LPM to name a few!
Reading and Music: I am about to get started on NOG the paperback edition and cannot wait!
Travel: To see our family who live N-S-E-W of us and a special NYC trip with girlfriends in the fall.
Christmas trees: We can be counted on for 8 each Christmas.
Pictures: Taking them, framing them, sharing them, but not BEING in them.
Chocolate and peanut butter combos...A personal breakfast favorite is a South Beach cereal bar with a thin layer of p'nut butter.
Volunteering: Church, School, National Charity League...I love to serve.
Tradition: As opposed to change.
Favorite Verses:

Colossians 3:12 I have always felt dearly loved by Jesus and desire to show his love to others through my actions.
1 Thess. 5:16-18 Joy, prayer and thanksgiving in Christ Jesus - such a daily stand-by!
While I have been thrilled to hear Beth teach in person this will be my first large conference and I am going with one of my favorite travel friends.
I confess to feeling a lot of excited and a tiny bit nervous.
See you soon!

It's great to meet you and hear your story! Although you don't feel comfortable in the "spotlight" you did a great job of describing your life and your beautiful family!
I'll have to add my two cents on your daughter attending A&M?-it's a great place. As a matter of fact, we are retiring the end of August from my husband's second flying career and moving to College Station! I'll look for you in San Antonio!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Elizabeth!! What a beautiful family you are...inside and out.
I know..the spotlight...is kind of weird huh?! :) You handled it beautifully and I can't wait to see you in SA!
Hugs and blessings~
Fran
Nice to meet you Elizabeth! I am originally from Plano (born and raised there), so it's always fun to meet someone from there! You have a beautiful family and a sweet spirit - I look forward to hugging your neck in SA!
Love to you this day,
Melinda
Hi Elizabeth! Nice to meet you!
Adrienne
Elizabeth,
It was so great to read about you! I, too, am a wee bit nervous about San Antonio! Very excited but I get the nervousness! ;)
Looking forward to meeting you soon!
Hi Elizabeth! My goodness, what a beautiful family you have. Teenagers can be such a blessing and so much fun to have that much life and energy in your house. I know what you mean about not wanting in the spotlight, I feel the same way. It was good reading all about you and your family and I look forward to seeing you in person soon.

Great to "meet" you! I also have a daughter named Brynne! Brynne Elizabeth, as a matter of fact. :) Although she is only 8,she has been to Mexico twice and already has a heart for the people there. She was baptized there this summer! :)
Elizabeth,
I could hear you sweet gentle voice coming through your words. Wow! What a beautiful and well-rounded family you have. Having a daughter who just graduated and one who is just about to enter her Junior year in high school - I can so relate. I, too, love teenagers. And, apparently, they love me... which shocks me to know end. I have a whole bunch I call "my kids" - most are now in the "I've graduated from college, I'm getting married or I'm having a baby stage..." My youngest and two of her friends meet with me each week for Bible study - though I did not include that in my bio.
Anyway... I'm rambling - a bit groggy still from just getting up. Crazy how that works.
Anyway - your descriptions of your children were vividly drawn, and you write beautifully. Your life verses rang with beautiful reflection. I look forward to (HOPEFULLY) seeing you in San Antonio! Blessings Sweet Siesta!
P. S. I'm from Fort Worth, Too!
awe your spotlight was awesome.
I am a tiny bit nervous too
I enjoyed reading your spotlight! You have a sweet family.
I do think that is just the coolest of how you and your husband met!!
I am with you on the Bible. I would hate to lose mine because of all the notes but the thing is, I have 8 Bibles just like that.
Can't wait to meet you in S.A.!!!
Blessings,
Patty
Hi Elizabeth. It's so nice to meet you on here and learn more about your life before meeting in person in just a couple of weeks.
I'm so excited!
My daughter will turn 26 on Sept. 7 and this trip is her birthday present from my husband and me.
I saw where you're going to NY in the fall. Have you been before?
I went with my mom and sister back in March and we had a wonderful time. I posted each day and what all we did along with pictures on my blog.
Again, I look forward to meeting you.
Love,
Valerie
I forgot to mention my Bible that is falling apart and making me so sad. I have so many things highlighted and underlined....dates and initials of prayer requests written.
It's such a special Bible.
The other day I was looking for something in James and couldn't find it because it had fallen out....yes, the whole book of James was somewhere over in the NT. :( So, I can relate to what you're saying....I love my large print Bible.
Hi Elizabeth! Nice to meet you, looking forward to SA.
Nicole
Elizabeth, Like you I'm a lot excited and a little nervous. It's a large group of friends who have never met...a first for me. Hope we will get a chance to meet face to face. Blessings!
Hi Elizabeth--
Nice to meet you. I too have a special Bible with notes and things in it. I usually leave that one at home when I travel for the same fears.
I look forward to meeting you in person!
Engrafted by His Grace-
Very nice to meet you Elizabeth! Look forward to meeting you!
Hi-
Loved your spotlight! I need to send one in... but I don't know what to put... I am the worst writer... not good at condensing! : )
Loved what you said about teenagers we will have to talk in SA because I have 3 now and I am panicked!
Your family is beautiful! God Bless!
Emmy : )
Thanks for sharing, tell Brynne that God gave her that heart for that community and that she must realize not everyone has that heart, God will use it if she allows Him! She can communicate with me through my Spanish blog if she wishes! www.amigadivina.blogspot.com also, I think my mom would enjoy meeting you at the Fiesta, she works for SWA and was a flight attendant for many yrs. Hopefully we can connect there. God Bless!

Hi Elizabeth, Thanks for the encouragement with the teenagers. Mine are 11 and 9 and I'm a bit nervous about the upcoming years. Looking forward to meeting you in San Antonio. Any flying tips for a first time solo traveler?! Yikes...
Cindy
Elizabeth, you did a great job! You should be in the spotlight more. You and your daughters as just beautiful.
See you in a couple weeks!
Melana in Wyoming
Hi girls! I am trying to do this on my phone since we are in Colorado! Thank you all for your warm hellos and I have something to reply to every one of you when I get home.
However, my daughter read my entry and commented on my "little p" comment as it pertains to my marriage. Let me clarify that never for a moment did I mean to imply anything other then happily married. My intent was to express appropriate pride and not sinful pride.
More excited by the day! Elizabeth
Wow - in that first pic the three of you could be sisters instead of mother and daughters....you look so young!
Beautiful family!!
Us siestas knew what you meant by "little p". Not a bit of confusion here!
Melana
Greetings Elizabeth! What a beautiful family! I am a lover of pink too!
Looking forward to meeting you in SA!
